Right To Play

Promoting Life-skills in Aboriginal Youth (PLAY) works in partnership with Hiiye’yu Lelum to provide community-driven and culturally-relevant programming to Aboriginal children and youth all year long.

PLAY is designed to deliver weekly play-based programs that aim to promote healthy living, healthy relationships, education and employability.  In delivering PLAY programming, Community Mentors create a safe and inclusive space where children and youth can play, share, learn and grow.

WHY ‘PLAY’?

First Nations, Inuit and Metis children and youth are one of the fastest growing demographics in this Country. While they face social, economic and systemic barriers, it is also true that the young people and their communities hold the knowledge, skills and strategies needed to create positive change in their lives.
