Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Key Worker

The Key Worker is a specialized worker highly knowledgeable in the area of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, family support and is sensitive and knowledgeable concerning Aboriginal culture. The worker will liaise with the (VIHA) diagnostic team and will assist families in following through diagnostic recommendations and will assist in coordinating services across multiple systems (early intervention teams, foster parents support, education, social services, financial resources, transportation, health etc.).

Using a family-centered, sensitive approach and FASD best practice standards the Key Worker / family support worker will offer enhanced support of children and youth, caregivers, parents and families that contribute to stress reduction and family stability. This is predominately and “Outreach” position for services delivered in the family/caregiver home, community, schools and when required at the office.
